ADVICE TO CANDIDATES DISTILLED FROM IB SUBJECT REPORTS
The convention for answering written papers is rooted in the interdisciplinary nature of the subject. As in the humanities, answers should be written in full sentences rather than bullet points or underlines. Spaced paragraphs are recommended.
Students should pay close attention to command statements. It is good exam technique to underline them in the question paper. For example: when asked to "evaluate," students must explore the strength and the weaknesses of the topic. The importance of examples cannot be overstated. Candidates should use their own case studies.
Students should save time by using labelled boxes in flow charts rather than elaborate drawings.
Students are encouraged to “Have a go!”
